Artistic and Activist Practices in Education and Public Spaces

WORKSHOPS – PANELS – PERFORMANCES


During the exhibition’s final weekend, we will facilitate a dialogue between artistic and activist perspectives featured in the exhibition and beyond. Focusing on the themes of children’s theater and interventions in public spaces, participants from around the world will come together to learn and work collaboratively.



Thursday, June 25

  • 4–7 p.m. 

For the Future, Against Fear 
Drawing and Shadow Theater Workshop (German/English/Spanish)
With Mirja Reuter & Florian Gass (Berlin) and Federico Geller (Buenos Aires)

Taking inspiration from Asja Lācis’ 1921 manifesto, which is displayed on the walls of the exhibition, we will collaboratively design picture stories and drawings for the future. These may result in shadow theater puppets, a zine, and/or prints. 

For all ages – No prior experience required!

Disobedient Art from the South
Artistic Experiences from Education and the Streets
Talk & Discussion (Portuguese/English/German) 
With Contra Filé (São Paulo) and Federico Geller (Buenos Aires) 

The artists will share their experiences from the intersection of education, protest, and art in Southern Latin America. They connect their own practice with historical traditions and current trends in local and global militant art practice. 



Friday, June 26

Doing Art with the City
Panel discussion and exchange with Contrafilé (São Paulo), Lauratibor Kollektiv (Berlin), Theater X (Berlin), and other guests tba (Portuguese/German/English)
What are the pressing questions today regarding content and formats in works between art and protest?

Open workshop with participants from the exhibition on the Naunynstraße play street



Saturday, June 27

Complaining with the Meckerchor
Participatory performance in public space and public transportation (German)
