ENCOUNTERS ist die erste umfassende Überblicksausstellung der in Berlin lebenden Künstlerin Tanja Ostojić in Deutschland. Als Pionierin feministischer und postmigrantischer künstlerischer Praxis beschäftigt sie sich seit den 1990er Jahren mit Fragen von Migration, Körperpolitiken, Geschlechterverhältnissen sowie institutionellen Macht- und Ausschlussmechanismen. Ihre Arbeiten bewegen sich zwischen Performance, Video, Installation und Konzeptkunst und entstehen häufig in engem kollaborativen Austausch.

Die Ausstellung versammelt zentrale Werke aus den vergangenen 25 Jahren sowie neue Produktionen und macht die anhaltende Relevanz von Ostojićs Praxis für aktuelle gesellschaftliche Debatten sichtbar. Ein begleitendes Programm mit Artist Talk, Round Table und Workshop vertieft die Auseinandersetzung mit den Themen der Ausstellung. 

Das Projekt entsteht in Kooperation zwischen dem Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien und alpha nova & galerie futura.

ENCOUNTERS is the first comprehensive retrospective exhibition in Germany of the Berlin-based artist Tanja Ostojić. As a pioneer of feminist and post-migrant artistic practice, she has been exploring issues of migration, body politics, gender relations, and institutional mechanisms of power and exclusion since the 1990s. Her works span performance, video, installation, and conceptual art and are often created through close collaborative exchanges.

The exhibition brings together key works from the past 25 years as well as new productions, highlighting the enduring relevance of Ostojić’s practice to current societal debates. An accompanying program featuring an artist talk, roundtable discussion, and workshop deepen the exhibition’s thematic explorations.

The project is a collaboration of Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien and alpha nova & galerie futura.
